Weather Normalization

 

Presentation:           Heating costs from year to year vary based on the outside air conditions. This tech review will highlight the steps to weather normalize the usage information for a process and space heating system. We also plan to provide valuable information on how to find the required data for historical weather normalization. The degree day method vs the bin hour method will be reviewed, and then the preferred method and some discoveries by measurement and verification scientists will be discussed.

 

Speaker:                   Keith McBrien is a Project Manager for GDS and has over 17 years of energy engineering professional experience.  Keith gained valuable skills working as a design engineer on HVACP systems for college, universities and schools in the northeast region.

Keith has developed the commercial and industrial energy service group at GDS’s NH office, providing hundreds of comprehensive fuel blind energy audits and renewable energy studies for C&I customers.  He was lead engineer providing modeling, technical and financial analysis for several large energy users’ potential renewable energy generation projects. Keith has a deep knowledge of geothermal space conditioning systems including earth couple and geo exchange these systems. He has designed dozens of systems from down East Maine to Manhattan.

 

Meeting Focus:       Research Promotion – We will have the Superbowl Football Pool grid at the meeting and will be selling squares at $10 each. 1st & 3rs Qtrs win $75, Halftime wins $100, Final wins $250. The rest will be contributed to Research Promotion.
